Zebra spiders (latin name, Aphonopelma Seemanni) are good for those who are new to looking after tarantulas. They get their name from the distinct markings. They are also known as Costa Rican Striped Knee tarantulas (as this is where they originate from).
Like most tarantulas, Zebra spiders eat insects (crickets, locust, cockroach etc) both in captivity and in the wild. In captivity they are fed every 5 – 10 days.
Growing between 10 cm and 13 cm males Zebra spiders live up to 5 years whereas females can live up to 20 years.
